Welcome to Playful Pathways (formerly Tot School), a nurturing early learning program dedicated to providing a stimulating and joyful experience for children ages 2-5. Our play-based approach encourages exploration, creativity, and social development.

Our Philosophy:

Playful Pathways is built on the belief that meaningful learning happens when children feel safe, supported, and engaged. Our programs intentionally balance child-led play with teacher-guided instruction, allowing children to build foundational skills while developing independence and self-confidence.

We incorporate evidence-based programs such as Second Step for social-emotional learning and Heggerty to support early literacy development. Math concepts, problem-solving, fine- and gross-motor skills, and early language development are woven naturally into daily activities, routines, and play experiences.

Miss Katrina- Owner/Director/Teacher

Miss Katrina graduated from Syracuse University in 2007 with a degree in Inclusive Elementary and Special Education and earned her master’s degree in Literacy Education in 2008. She holds New York State certifications in Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade 2), Childhood Education (Grades 1–6), Literacy (Birth–Grade 6), and Special Education.

She spent five years teaching at the elementary level in Hamilton, NY, followed by six years teaching kindergarten in the ESM district. Katrina concluded her public school teaching career in 2019 with the birth of her third child.

In 2022, Katrina opened Little Village Play in Manlius, where she later introduced Tot School—a program that quickly became her passion. As Tot School grew and the vision expanded beyond play, Playful Pathways was born. With the sale of Little Village Play, Katrina is excited to fully focus on providing high-quality, play-based early learning through Playful Pathways.

Katrina is a proud mom of three children, ages 6, 11, and 13. She has a deep love for working with toddlers and preschoolers and finds endless joy in watching children grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence during these foundational years.

Miss Laurel-  Preschool Teacher

As a longtime member of the Playful Pathways Tot School team, I feel honored to help make each child's first school experience a positive and memorable one.

I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Boston College and am passionate about creating a warm, engaging environment where young children can learn and thrive. I am the proud mom of a daughter in 7th grade and a son in 9th grade.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy running, spending time with my two cats, Bella and Lucy, and browsing the aisles at Target! I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be one of your child's first teachers and look forward to a year filled with playing, learning, growing, and making wonderful memories together.

Mrs. Hill- Pre-K Teacher

I'm Mrs. Bev Hill, and I have over 20 years of experience in early childhood education. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to teach at Broadbent Nursery School, Immaculate Conception School, and Playful Pathways, where I've also led summer programs, special events, and enrichment opportunities for young children.

I love creating a warm, play-based environment where children feel safe, confident, and excited to learn. I feel incredibly fortunate to be teaching Pre-K at Playful Pathways and to be part of each child's early learning journey.

When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three children, family and friends, reading, walking, and relaxing with my dog, Millie.

Miss Andrea- Toddler & Preschool Teacher

I am excited to begin my second year as a full-time teacher at Playful Pathways. One of my greatest sources of experience comes from being the proud mom of my energetic 7-year-old son, who keeps life fun and adventurous! I enjoy volunteering at his school whenever I can and believe in being an active part of the community. My son and I also love spending time together at the beach and look forward to our annual summer trip to Massachusetts. In the classroom, I strive to build meaningful relationships with each child, taking the time to learn about their unique personalities and interests so they feel safe, comfortable, and right at home.

I hold a bachelor's degree in Physical Education and a master's degree in Literacy Education. I am certified in both Early Childhood and Childhood Education and bring 11 years of experience in elementary education, including five years as a kindergarten teacher. After choosing to stay home with my almost two-year-old daughter, I knew I still wanted to pursue my passion for working with young children. I am excited to continue supporting children's growth and development at Playful Pathways through meaningful, play-based learning experiences. Outside of the classroom, my family and I enjoy traveling, playing & watching sports, and going to the movies!

Miss Alyssa- Preschool Teacher

I have worked in early childhood education for nearly five years, caring for and teaching children of a variety of ages. Even before beginning my career in education, I loved working with children as a nanny, babysitter, and devoted aunt, always placing a strong emphasis on their safety, growth, and development. My husband and I are foster parents to a wonderful little boy and also share our home with our playful Rottweiler puppy, Dolly Pepper. Outside of the classroom, we enjoy exploring nature on family walks, watching movies, and spending quality time with our large extended family and close friends. I feel grateful for the opportunity to help children learn, grow, and build confidence during these important early years.
